Once the content's been updated, the next step of the DCS search engine optimization process is to make sure your website is submitted and included in the relevant search engines. We submit your site to these
key search engine portals.
We also submit your site to an important directory called the
Open Directory Project
. Directory submission to the Open Directory Project and other directories (As we do in building inbound links) requires effective copy writing to comply with the directory's technical parameters. Focused search engine and directory submission is critical for
search engine optimization success.
Search Engine Submission Myths
Here are two of the biggest perpetuated search engine optimization myths, usually by direct mail website promotion agencies with questionable credentials (spam mail):
- "We'll submit your site to thousands of search engines"
If your site is listed in the 4 search engines above, you've covered the
market share
of search portals used by the average web-surfer.
- "We'll re-submit your site (Insert monthly or quarterly)"
Submitting your website over-and-over again has no impact on search engine optimization or search engine ranking. Once it's in, it's in. And if properly optimized, the website will be visited and indexed on a regular basis by web crawlers.
And to take advantage of those regular crawls, we'll begin work on link acquisition.
